DONCASTER ST LEGER 1798

The 23rd winner of the St Leger, held on Tuesday 25th September 1798 over the 2 miles of Town Moor, was Symmetry, a grey colt by Delpini out of Violet, owned by Sir Thomas Gascoigne. A field of 10 runners contested the race, although there were 14 subscriptions of 25 guineas each, which was worth 350 Guineas. (Equivalent to £40,200 in 2017)
